Dr. Ross Pickei in Houston, TX
Born and raised in the Houston area, Dr. Ross Pickei earned his dental degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2014.
Prior to dentistry, Dr. Pickei graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in nutrition and biology. He was an active member of the Silver Spurs, a men’s service organization best known as the caretakers of Bevo, the beloved UT mascot. He then pursued interests in cancer biology research at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston where he was published in numerous scientific journals. Dr. Pickei’s passion for research continued throughout dental school, when he was recognized for his findings on oral thrush affecting immunocompromised populations.
In July 2021, Dr. Pickei purchased the practice from dental industry veteran James M. Seale, DDS. He is honored to follow in Dr. Seale's footsteps and continue his longstanding commitment to exemplary dentistry and compassionate care.
Dr. Pickei considers patient-doctor relationships to be the most rewarding aspect of patient care, providing oral health education and helping to ease patient anxieties when visiting the dentist. He is an active member of the American Dental Society, Texas Dental Association and Greater Houston Dental Society and has volunteered locally with the Mobile Dental Clinic, National Serve Day and Give Kids a Smile Day. Dr. Pickei treats his patients like family and his goal is to be your dentist for life.
An avid University of Texas football fan, Dr. Pickei enjoys cheering on his beloved Longhorns, discovering the best barbecue in Texas, and spending time with his wife and high school sweetheart Laurie and their two young sons.
